Monsoon Maya Print Maxi Dress

As soon as the warm months roll around I'm definitely one to embrace the maxi dresses. For me its always a sign that summer has arrived. Be it the bright colours, floral prints or the way that they swish around at your ankles but there is just something so summery about a maxi dress. I absolutely love how flattering they can be and when I find the right one they're a complete confidence booster. However as I've mentioned before, not being the tallest of girls I have to find a maxi dress that isn't ridiculously long or else it ends up trailing on the floor like a wedding dress! Speaking of weddings: a few weeks ago I was shopping with my Mum, who was on the lookout for a dress to wear to one and she took us in Monsoon. Not a shop I would ever usually look in myself, however I was surprised at how much caught my eye in there including this beautiful maxi dress.

Tropical Flower Summer Dress

Tropical Flower Dress | Apricot | £32 | Link (similar)
There are definitely shops that I veer towards more at different times of the year, and by that I mean that I always seem to be attracted to the pretty summer dresses in Apricot. I think that Apricot have a really good selection of super cute and affordable items around about now. When shopping the other day I was immediately drawn to this bright tropical dress that is simply singing with colour. The pictures don't really show just how vivid and eye catching this dress is in reality, but there is such a lot going on in this dress from mint green, to pink to yellow - a floral dress lover's dream.

As for the dress itself I would probably call it a midi dress or at least it is on me where I'm on the short side. The dress comes up to about my knees, and I actually really like that about it, it feels super feminine while still being fun and youthful. It has quite a long zip down the back and a bow that adds to the pretty feminine feel of it.

And as for what shoes I'm going to be pairing with this, well the minute I tried the dress on I knew just the ones. I'm really excited to wear this outfit, and I may have just the ocassion later this month...

What do you think of this outfit? Do you like floral prints?

Topshop Pansy Print Dress

Pansy Print Dress | Topshop | £29 | Link
Good evening, I hope you've all had a gorgeous weekend and enjoyed the summery May weather we've been having here in England. Today's post is a little different - I'm certainly no fashion blogger but I couldn't resist sharing this cute little pansy print dress that I picked up from Topshop! Its officially appropriate to start whipping out the cute sun dresses in the UK and I was in the market for a new casual day dress: this immediately caught my eye, everything about the floral print to the vibrant colour which I would call an orangey red.

Although you can't really tell from the picture but the dress is extremely flattering. I picked this up in a size 10 and this has a really neat little waistline that seems to draw you in and is generally really feminine. There is also a very cute sort of lace detailing on the back which I really like about it too. This was ace to stick on for a lovely day in the sun! I might even be brave and showcase this an OOTD type of post, as the picture doesn't really do it's prettiness any justice, but we shall see...

Would you wear this dress? Do you wear casual dresses?
